2010 Annual Training Event – Letter from David Clarke
Dear Colleague,
2009 has been a very difficult year for Local Authority Investigators. We have encountered high workloads due to the recession as well as financial restraints, which have been placed on most Local Authorities.
The theme for our 2010 event is again Training and Development. Our members have requested that we focus on training, sharing best practice, development of individuals, keynote speakers as well as incorporating our own AGM.
With this in-mind, the committee have put together a very full programme incorporating 8 training sessions. We have also invited a number of Local Authorities who are leaders in best practice.
Adrian Webster is our powerhouse motivational speaker, who you cannot afford to miss. He is author of Polar Bear Pirates and Their Quest to Reach Fat City!
Top trainers and training organisations are attending who will provide a greater array of opportunities for our delegates. Training certificates will be issued for each session attended. Day two is a full day based around best practice workshops designed for investigators in all sections charged with investigating fraudulent offences, be it Benefits, Housing, Trading Standards, Corporate Fraud, or Audits.
The cost of the event is the same as last year, thanks to the excellent financial management of the sub-committee, and the Royal York Hotel, who have again withheld any price increase.
I sincerely hope you are able to attend and enjoy our Sixth Annual Event, which, as always is organised, and designed “by Investigators for Investigators.
Kind regards
David Clarke – Chairman of LAIOG
